A few messages from our readers

Dan:
Hi!I was hoping that maybe you would listen to the track I included, "Just Impolite." It has already created a bit of buzz on myspace, especially since its inclusion in the popular webTV series We Need Girlfriends. Anyways, if you want to post it, I would be willing to send you my new track "Dancing in a Minefield" which is not available for download anywhere and my fans are just waiting to get their hands on it, so I'll send them over to you for downloading. our myspace is http://www.myspace.com/plushgun I am available for any interviews, phone or email. We are also trying to push our premier show, which is going to be on 9/27 at The Bitter End in NYC. Thanks so much!Dan IngalaPlushgunwww.myspace.com/plushgun

Ryan:
Hi good people at Musikoon!
I just wanted to write you and recommend a band called Akron/Family, of which I'm a huge fan of, and send you some links for your listening pleasure. They just started a tour this weekend with Greg Davis and Megafaun and they have a new album coming out Tues. I'm horrible at describing music but here is some digital love to check out for yourself:
"Ed is a Portal" -- http://akronfamily.com/backend/mp3/Ed%20Is%20A%20Portal.mp3
"Phenomena" -- http://akronfamily.com/backend/mp3/Phenomena.mp3
I was hoping you could listen to the music and consider them for posting/review on the musikoon music blog.
If you want some more info, check this out:
http://akronfamily.com/backend/
Also, their website is here:

and of course they're on MySpace:

I heard about Akron/Family from some very nice people in Megafaun who are local to me here in North Carolina. Megafaun are not only opening but they'll also be playing as part of Akron/Family on stage, along with Greg Davis, turning Akron/Family into a very robust 8 piece of sonic mastery. Anyways, just thought I'd pass along the good word! I think Akron/Family deserve some attention.
I'd love to hear what you think.
Talk to ya soon,
ryan

I was looking through your blog and I thought you might be interested in myband Red Collar based in Durham and Chapel HIll, North Carolina. I washoping you could check out our music, and if you like it, we'd love for youto review and/or post us. We've been told we sound kind of like BruceSpringsteen fronting Fugazi. We've gotten serious kudos for our lyrics andour high-energy live shows. This year we released our debut album - the Hands Up EP. We've built astrong fan base, played a SXSW showcase and toured our region(mid-atlantic). The Carolina Hurricanes (pro hockey) actually play ouralbum at their games and we just got added to a bunch of college radiorotations - KEXP & XMU among others. This winter we will be recording a full length with producer BrianPaulson(Wilco, Archers of Loaf, Superchunk). If you have a chance, check out the music off our The Hands Up EP:
